Overview

Following an old Balkan custom, Stana, raised as a boy from an early age, had to sacrifice her life as a woman, agreeing to become a man in the eyes of everyone in order to perpetuate her father's name without a male heir. In parallel, interviews with five young women in Belgrade - from bus driver to graffiti artist - reveal singular chosen paths. Are we free to shape our identities?
